Nikolaos Solomakos graduated in 2001 from the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly and completed his doctoral thesis with a scholarship at the Laboratory of Food Hygiene of Animal Origin of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly, which he successfully completed in 2007. Since 2009, he has been serving as a faculty member at the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly. and currently as Associate Professor.
He has participated as a scientific manager and member of the research team in national and European research programs.
He is a member of editorial boards and a reviewer in scientific journals. He has published more than 130 papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings. He is the supervisor of 3 doctoral theses in progress and has supervised more than 20 master’s theses, while he has participated in more than 50 three-member advisory committees of master’s theses.
Since 2008, he has been teaching in the Postgraduate Programs “Applied Public Health and Environmental Hygiene” of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, “Nutrition in Health and Disease” of the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, “Aquaculture – Pathological Problems of Farmed Aquatic Organisms” of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Thessaly, “Technology, Quality and Safety of Food of Animal Origin” of the D.P.M.S. of the University of Thessaly and “Sustainable Management of the Aquatic Environment” of the Department of Agriculture, Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment of the University of Thessaly.
