Dr. Ioannis Karapanagiotidis is a Professor at the Aquaculture Laboratory (AWL) of the Department of Agriculture, Ichthyology and Aquatic Environment, University of Thessaly. He holds a degree in Agricultural Science and Animal Science from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with postgraduate (M.Sc.) and doctoral (Ph.D.) studies in aquaculture at the University of Stirling (UK) and postgraduate training in aquatic resources management at the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand). He was a recipient of the Hellenic Institute of Health Scholarship for postgraduate studies abroad, and was awarded by the European Commission for conducting doctoral research. His field of study is “Nutrition of Aquatic Animal Organisms” and he has been teaching courses such as “Fish Nutrition”, “Fish Feed Technology” and “Aquaculture” for many years. He has supervised and co-supervised a multitude of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral theses (120 in total). He teaches/has taught in 6 Postgraduate Programs of his Department and others in Greece. He has been a Scientific Director and scientific collaborator in a total of 25 co-funded and European research programs and is also a member of the registers of evaluators in many of them. He is a reviewer and editorial board member in international scientific journals and conferences. Member of scientific associations (EZE, GEOTEEE, ETEPY, EAS). He has 61 publications in international SCI journals, 160 presentations in national & international conferences and 4 chapters in books, h-index: 21 (scopus), citations: 1485 (scopus). KARELAKIS CHRISTOSRank/Position: Professor, Democritus University of Thrace Scientific Field: Agricultural Policy Faculty/Department/Research Institution: Department of Rural Development, Democritus University of Thrace Professor at the Department of Rural Development, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTH), in the field of Agricultural Policy. My studies include a BA in Agricultural Economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), a MA in International Agricultural and Food Marketing from Newcastle upon Tyne University, and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from AUTH. My research interests focus on issues of agricultural policy, rural development, international trade, agri-food business management and export-import management. with published work in prestigious international journals such as: Agribusiness an International Journal, Fisheries Research, Agronomy for Sustainable Development, Land Use Policy, New Medit, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy Policy, Agricultural Systems, European Planning Studies and Annals of Operational Research. In addition, I have participated, as a researcher, in international and domestic research programs while I have participated in a significant number of international conferences. KATSANIDIS EVGENIOSRank/Position: Professor, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Scientific Field: Meat & Fish Technology Faculty/Department/Research Institution: Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Environment, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Evgenios Katsanidis received his basic degree in Food Science and Technology from the Department of Agriculture, School of Geotechnical Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and his master’s degree (M.Sc.) in 1995 and his doctorate (Ph.D.) in 2000 in Food Science from the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Minnesota, USA with a research scholarship. He worked as a technical consultant for various food companies and from 1999 to 2001 in the Research and Development Department of Pillsbury (Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA). His research interests include the development of new technologies in the processing, preservation and quality assessment of meat and fish products with the aim of optimizing quality, the development and implementation of innovative fat replacement systems, the design and development of new products and the determination of the shelf life of these foods and food packaging. He has supervised 17 master’s theses (15 completed), 2 completed doctoral theses, 2 postdoctoral researchers and has published 44 research papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals (h-index: 19), various chapters in books and volumes and has more than 1200 bibliographies. KATSOULIS KONSTANTINOSRank/Position: Associate Professor, University of Thessaly Scientific Field: Food Hygiene of Animal Origin Faculty/Department/Research Institution: Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Thessaly Student Contact Hours: Monday 09:00 – 11:00, Tuesday 09:00 – 11:00 Konstantinos Katsoulis is a graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a PhD from the same School.
